May I introduce you to: Rey.

Rey is my rock, her love is unconditional, she cheers me up and makes me smile 100% of the time when I need some cheering up. There is something to be said about a human's best friend, the dog. My beastie, my bestie.

The best thing about caring for a dog is that she needs her daily walk and therefore I get my daily dose of low impact exercise plus some fresh air and Vitamin D! It's a win win situation!

This morning, I decided to get my yoga mat out and do some stretches. Rey thought that was a great idea and joined me on the mat right away. Literally. She put her paws on the mat and went straight into the downwards dog pose... I must admit, hers looks a lot more graceful than mine...!

We had a ton of fun, I didn't get a lot of my exercises done, but I laughed a lot and Rey got her walk sooner than I had planned. She tricked me, I'm sure that was her plan all along...

So, if you have a dog at home, go take them for a walk or even a jog! Maybe you have a dog park nearby, where they can socialise with some other dogs and you can connect with other pawrents (sorry!). All of this is good for you, good for your mental health and overall wellbeing, and its good for your puppy, too.

Of course, if you don't have a dog, take yourself for walk and try to form a new habit.

Make it a weekly occurrence. maybe before work, or during your lunch break. You could ask your friends if they are up for a walk on a Sunday morning and make it a thing!

This is, in fact, one of my things too. I walk 5kms in the morning, once a week, with a bunch of girls. But I might leave this for another time. until then, get your sneakers on and get walking!
